WATERLOO - Eldo M. Hilleshiem, 72, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, June 15, at Allen Hospital after a long illness.

He was born March 20, 1939, in Waterville, son of Grover and Mabel A. Frok Hilleshiem. He married Mildred L. "Millie" Latting March 20, 1965, in Preston, Minn.

Mr. Hilleshiem was employed by John Deere & Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1993. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survived by his wife; a son, Christopher of Waterloo; two stepsons, Roger Latting of Cedar Rapids and Ronnie Latting of Waterloo; three stepdaughters, Sue Latting of Cedar Rapids, Cecilia (Ronnie) Nicolous of Waverly and Sandra Latting of Waterloo; a brother, Roger H. (Carol) of Waterville; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: eight brothers, Mervin, Gordon, Arthur, Lloyd, Richard, LeRoy and Lester, and one in infancy; and five sisters, Eleanor, Arlene Bowers, Lorna, Evelyn and Jean Peterson.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball. Public visitation will be held for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19, Evansdale AMVETS Post 31, and the Iowa Army National Guard Honor Detail.
