WATERLOO - Theodore "Ted" Klockner, 85, of Washburn, died Thursday, June 9, at ManorCare Health Services after a short illness.

He was born July 1, 1925, in Wall Lake, son of Theodore and Grace Peters Klockner.

He spent his entire career working for the Illinois Central Railroad, where he retired as a planning and scheduling supervisor in Waterloo. In retirement, he spent several years operating a pumpkin farm with his daughter Nancy.

Survived by a son, Bruce (Carol) of Pecatonica, Ill.; two daughters, Nancy (Pat) Jeffries of Waterloo and Jackie (Donald) Dybevik of Elma; a daughter-in-law, Teri of La Porte City; 11 grandchildren, Logan (Laura), Jill (Matt) Rosauer, Kelli (Matt) Brunscheon, Leah (Adam Wauters) Jeffries, Ryan Dybevik, Heather Dybevik, Tiffany Dybevik, Brittany (Jason) Stone, Carrie (Chad) Walker, Hollie (Nate) Hegdahl and Jennie (Corey) Lorenzen; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Paul; and a great-granddaughter, Grace Rosauer.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, Waterloo, with burial in Westview Cemetery, La Porte City. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family for the ALS Association in memory of Paul Klockner or the University of Iowa Children's Hospital in memory of Grace Rosauer.

Ted was an avid gardener and he loved his family dearly.
