WATERLOO - Henry Roby, 86, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, June 8, at Manor Care of natural causes.

He was born April 7, 1925, in Goodman, Miss., son of Henry Roby and Hattie Gary. He married Minnie Ford July 20, 1947, in Waterloo.

He was employed at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works and served in the U.S. Army.

Survived by his wife, Minnie; two daughters, Angela Dotson of Waterloo and Diedra of Minneapolis; a son, Michael (Betty) of Waterloo; a brother, Roosevelt of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by a son, football legend Reggie Roby; a brother, Willie D.; and a sister, Gussie Buckner.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Antioch Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 138 and V.F.W. Post 1623. Public visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the church, and an hour before services Monday at the church. Sanders Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
