JOHNSTON - Daevion Lee Greer, 12, of Johnston, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, June 3, at Mercy Westlake Hospital, West Des Moines, of muscular dystrophy.

He was born Dec. 11, 1998, in Waterloo, son of Angela Elaine Bryant and Daniel Lee Greer Sr. He recently completed sixth grade at Summit Middle School, Johnston, and attended Bread of Life Church of God In Christ, Des Moines.

Survived by his mother of Johnston; his father of Waterloo; maternal grandparents, Lawrence Bryant of Cedar Rapids and Jackie Bryant of Waterloo; paternal grandparents, David Lee Greer Sr. and Linda Jean Greer, both of Waterloo; and maternal great-grandfather, Oliver Bryant of Cedar Rapids.

Preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Lee Greer Jr.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Greer Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Saturday at church.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 251 Polk St., where they will receive friends.
