WATERLOO - Rosaline A. "Rosie" Townsend, 83, of Waterloo, died Monday, June 6, at Country View Care Facility.

She was born April 13, 1928, in Buffalo Center, Winnebago County, daughter of Jeremiah and Lillian Harms Willis. She married Cecil Henry Townsend on July 26, 1958, in Waterloo. He died Feb. 18, 1995.

Mrs. Townsend was educated in Titonka and was a homemaker. She was a member of Cedar Valley Community Church and Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138 Auxiliary.

Survived by two daughters, Judy A. (Tim) Townsend and Lisa K. Townsend, both of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Daniel and Mikayla; and a brother, Gerald Willis of Waverly.

Preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Vernon, Mervin and Russell Willis.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today and an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Rosie enjoyed baking, planting flowers, taking long walks and listening to all kinds of music. She loved animals, treasured spending time with her family and was a longtime faithful donor to the March of Dimes.
