CEDAR FALLS - Connie Lee Winkey, 65, of Cedar Falls, entered into heaven on Friday, June 3, 2011, at home in Cedar Falls of ovarian cancer.

She was born Oct. 22, 1945, in Des Moines, daughter of Robert and Georgianna Lindman Willbee. She attended elementary school in Des Moines and high school at Waverly-Shell Rock. She married Terry Alan Winkey on July 29, 1961, at the Methodist Church, Waverly.

Connie will be remembered by everyone who knew her as the most beautiful person, both inside and out. Known for her ready smile, she always found the best in everyone with never a bad word. Heaven just became a little better place.

Connie worked at Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc., Waterloo, retiring May 31, 2008, after 32 years of service.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Teri Lynn Winkey (Michelle) of Cedar Falls; a son, Nick Alan Winkey of Honolulu; four grandchildren, Brandon, Chase, Taylor and Tyler; four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jackson, Benton and Braxton; her mother, Georgianna (Gene) Hallman of Waverly; a sister, Bonnie (Gerald) Sullivan of Odessa, Mo.; a brother, Robert Willbee of Carthage, N.C.; and her mother-in-law, Virginia Sorensen of Humboldt.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Emerson Willbee; father-in-law, Darrel Winkey; and Scooter and Scamp.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls.

Connie leaves behind the love of her life, Terry, and her family, which she cherished. Life-long friends: Lynn Longseth, Linda Hanus, Shirley Waddle, Marilyn Luttinen, Kay Huff, and also her precious dog, Mini.

A memorial has been established to be determined.
