WATERLOO - Robert Berger, 64, of Waterloo, died at home Saturday, May 28, of natural causes.

He was born July 12, 1946, in Hubbard, son of Thomas and Vivian Butler Berger. He attended Waterloo West High School and had worked at John Deere and Hinson Manufacturing for several years.

Survived by a son, Jimmy of Waterloo; two daughters, Bobbi Vestal of Waterloo and Veronica (Berry) Dungy of San Antonio; a stepson, Mike "Smitty" Smith of Charles City; several grandchildren; three brothers, David, Dean and Clyde (Delores), all of Waterloo; three sisters, Betty Marshall of Quasqueton, Grace Lestina of Davenport and Hazel Tullar of Silver Springs, Md.; and special friend, Deborah Larsen of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his companion of many years, Euala Smith in 2004; and two brothers, John and Tom.

Friends and family gathering: 1 p.m. Thursday at Waterloo VFW. There will be no visitation; his body has been cremated.
