CEDAR FALLS - Della Louise Bockhaus, 84, of Fort Collins, Colo., formerly of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, May 8, at Clare Bridge Assisted Living in Fort Collins.

She was born Jan. 3, 1927, near Waucoma, daughter of Fred and Louise Meyer Beier. She married Raymond D. Bockhaus June 30, 1948, in Frederika. He died Nov. 27, 2007.

She assisted with patient care as a candy-striper at a hospital in Oelwein, waitressed at Black's Tea Room in Waterloo, worked for Chamberlain Manufacturing Corp. during World War II, Wagner Manufacturing, Hy-Vee Food Stores and John Deere & Co.

Survived by a daughter, Pam (Kirk) Strawser of Fort Collins; a son, Ron (Susan) of Estes Park, Colo.; four grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence (Jean) Beier, of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin, Edwin and LaVerne Beier; and two sisters, Mildred Poppe and Ruth Zmoos.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Public visitation from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
