WATERLOO - David B. Barber, 74, of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 14, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

He was born Oct. 19, 1936, in Waterloo, son of Ernest L. and Geneva Gernant Byers. He was raised by his adopted mother Florence Barber.

Mr. Barber retired from Waterloo Industries in 1988 after 30 years of employment. He was a 50-year member of Living Water Church of the Nazarene.

Survived by a son, Kent W.; four daughters, Ruth Ann Allen, Sheryl K. Smith and Kathaleen D., all of Waterloo and Teresa Maskota; a half sister, Dorothy Green of Oakland, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Byers.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Living Water Church of the Nazarene, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
