WATERLOO - Robert N. Lyda, 72, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 10, at home.

He was born Aug. 10, 1938, in Nampa, Idaho, son of Isaac Newton and Ruth Young Lyda. He married Margaret Irene Richards on July 11. 1970, in Bridgewater. She died Dec. 8, 2002.

Mr. Lyda graduated from Nampa High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was employed as a truck driver for Waterloo Oil Co., and also drove cars for Enterprise.

Survived by two sons, Andrew (Brandy) of Blanchardville, Wis., and Ben of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Brett and River; and two sisters, Roberta Lyda and JoAnn Lyda, both of Nampa.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Family-conducted memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment at a later date. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street assisted the family.
