McGill, Robert Eugene 88, previously of Cedar Falls, passed away on May 3, 2011, in Sun City West, Ariz.

He was born on Sept. 7, 1922, in Independence, son of Howard and Frieda McGill. He married Margaret Doyle (deceased) on Jan. 27, 1949, in Oxford. He graduated from Independence High School and University of Iowa. He was a World War II veteran (China Burma India theater) serving in the U.S. Army Air Forces. He retired from C.W. Shirey in Waterloo.

He is survived by three sons, Robert and David, both of Winter Springs, Fla., and Douglas (Mary) of Surprise, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Sean, Erin and Elizabeth; two great-grandchildren, Colin and Haley; and one brother, Dale of Independence.

Public visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel and Cremation Center, 13738 W. Camino Del Sol, Sun City West, AZ 85375.
