CEDAR FALLS - Dorothy G. Meyerhoff, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, May 2, at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

She was born Nov. 18, 1923, in Bremer County, daughter of Frederick and Ella Miller Schoof. She married Richard Meyerhoff in 1944 in Waterloo, and they later divorced.

Ms. Meyerhoff attended a one-room school and graduated from Dunkerton High School. She received a bachelor's degree and master's degree in business education from the University of Northern Iowa. She was a teacher at Cedar Falls High School for nine years and a tax preparer for 35 years. Her memberships included Friends of the Library Board, the American Association of University Women, the Cedar Falls Woman's Club, the Girl Scouts of America Board and the State Board of the Iowa PTA.

Survived by two daughters, Nancy Meyerhoff of Maple Grove, Minn., and Katy (Al) Meyerhoff-Schares of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Olivia Schares and Henry Schares; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Schoof of Corona, Calif.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Gordon Schoof.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Falls Woman's Club or the AAUW Eleanor Roosevelt Fund.
