WATERLOO - JoAnne Marie Dempewolf Sutton, 79, of Waterloo, died Friday, April 22, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Aug. 19, 1931, in Cresco, daughter of Theodore and Eunella Harold Dempewolf. She married Clodus Sutton on June 1, 1948, in Cresco. He died Aug. 23, 2004.

JoAnne attended school in Cresco and was a homemaker. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

JoAnne's family was her life. She enjoyed fishing, garage sales, gardening and canning. She especially loved to cook and bake for her family and is fondly remembered for her cinnamon rolls.

Survived by a son, David of Waterloo; four daughters, Gail (Butch) Schweer of Des Moines, Debbie Dolan and Theresa Sutton, both of Waterloo, and Diane (Rick) Kinzebach of Cedar Falls; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Cindy (Norman) Verbeck and Sandy Turner, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by two sons, Dale and Kelly; two sisters, Karen Scully and Patricia Miller; and a brother, Arden Dempewolf.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service.
