Floyd Delbert Neely, 84, of Pittsburg, Kan., formerly of Evansdale, died Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg.

He was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Roswell, N.M., the son of James Lee and Ida Frances (Mooney) Neely.

On Dec. 18, 1946, he was united in marriage to Betty Ruth Schwake; 32 years later she preceded him in death on Sept. 19, 1979. He then married Roberta Moore on June 28, 1980; she preceded him in death Aug. 31, 2006.

Floyd was a prosthetic technician for 28 years, working for Dale Clark Prosthetics, now called Clark and Associates Prosthetics and Orthotics, in the Waterloo office.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church for the Deaf in Waterloo. He also was a member of the Cedarloo Deaf Club.

Survivors include a son, Delbert (Connie) Neely of Elk Run Heights; a daughter, Susan (Michael) McCabe of Pittsburg; six stepchildren, Rick Moore, LuAnn Jackson, Kim Jackson, John Nichols, Ron Nichols and Missy Nichols; two brothers, Louis Neely of Albuquerque, N.M., and John Neely of Roswell; a sister, Wanda Engledorf of Roswell; four grandchildren, 13 stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Thomas, Jake and Bill Neely; and a sister, Rachel Guest.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at Christ Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with the Rev. Mark Anderson and Pastor Stephen Stout officiating. Inurnment of his cremains will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
