EVANSDALE - Clarence P. Ostdahl, 88, of Evansdale, died Wednesday, April 6, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born March 15, 1923, in Palermo, N.D., son of Harold and Asthri Myhre Ostdahl. He married Doris Meyer on Feb. 2, 1951, in Stanley, N.D.

Mr. Ostdahl was employed at John Deere Engine Works for 25 years, retiring in 1985, and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survived by his wife; six sons, Robert (Elaine), Ricky, Ronald, Rory, Roderic and Rodney, all of Iowa; four daughters, Rita Spears, Rhonda (Bill) Pierson, Ramona (Duane) Tilkes and Renee (Duane) Steimel, all of Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bud (Marge) of Minot, N.D.; and two sisters, Verna Vaage of Stanley and Vivian (Doug) Grinolds of Craig, Colo.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Lawrence; and four sisters, Ruth, Mildred, Nellie and Avis.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETs Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31, with flag-folding rites by the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
