WATERLOO - Dr. Albert "Al" R. Nesbit, 85, of Landmark Commons, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, April 3, at Rosewood Estate.

He was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Waterloo, son of Ray E. and Marie Nauman Nesbit. He married Anne Ahrenholz on Oct. 10, 1946, in Waterloo.

Dr. Nesbit graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1943, attended the University of Northern Iowa, and graduated from Palmer School of Chiropractic Medicine in 1950. He was in private practice as a chiropractor in Waterloo until retiring in 1994. He also was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a founding board member and current emeritus board member of Friendship Village.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Dr. Larry (Vickii) Nesbit of Richmond, Va., and Gary (Hanna) of Roanoke, Va.; six grandchildren, Rebekah (Dr. Daniel) Klink, Sarah (Andrew) Johnston, Christopher (Amber) Nesbit, Dr. Elisabeth "Betsy" Nesbit, Tasha (Jason) Kell and Rebekah Nesbit; and four great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Sophia, Micah and Samuel Klink.

Preceded in death by a brother, Charles.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for an hour before services at the church. Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
