WATERLOO - Lovie Mae Collins, 87, of Waterloo, died Sunday, March 20, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

She was born April 7, 1923, in Sallis, Miss., daughter of Tiney and Johnnie Snow Evans Sr.

She worked at Schoitz Memorial Hospital in Waterloo for several years. She was a member of Community Southern Baptist Church in Waterloo.

Survived by two daughters, Minnie Wilder and Bessie Ellis, both of Waterloo; a son, Andrew Collins of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Willie David Evans of Clarksdale, Miss.

Preceded in death by three brothers, John, Robert and Tiney Jr.; and four sisters, Kate, Ruth, Lesserie and Bertha.

Services 1 p.m. Wednesday at Community Southern Baptist Church, Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation will be held for two hours before services Wednesday at the church. The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 116 Kern St., where they will be receiving friends.
