WATERLOO - Leland E. "Lee" Wiggins, 56, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Feb. 15 in Mesa.

He was born Oct. 30, 1954, in Waterloo, son of Duane and Frances Deviney Wiggins. He married Jane Simmons on Dec. 29, 1973, in Waterloo, and they later divorced.

Mr. Wiggins attended Columbus High School and had worked in the foundry at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 30 years, retiring in 2001.

Survived by a son, Dustin of Waterloo; a daughter, Erin (Michael Gillum) Wiggins of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Colyn and Amber Miller, both of Waterloo; two brothers, Roger (CJ Kennedy) Bedard of Phoenix and Dennis (Barbara) Goebel of Dubuque; two sisters, Joan (Gary) Bedard Ross of Eugene, Ore., and Peggy Bedard Paar of Oakdale, Minn.; nine nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; aunts and uncles.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Lee was a free spirit. He would travel from Arizona to Oregon to Iowa taking scenic routes. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed biking, hiking, golfing and music. He was there to help with any project you might have.
