WATERLOO - Cheryl Irene Leeson, 64, of Waterloo, died Monday, Feb. 21, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born May 8, 1946, in Waterloo, daughter of Cecil and Wanda Hutchins Wood. She married David Goldsmith in Waterloo, and they later divorced. She married Rex Leeson, and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Leeson was a homemaker and also was employed at Hy-Vee Crossroads as a dishwasher for four years.

Survived by two sons, Jerry Goldsmith of Waterloo and Randy (Rhonda) Goldsmith of Florida; two daughters, Rhonda Goldsmith of Waterloo and Harriet "Hattie" (John) Gaskins of Indiana; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis (Robin) Estel of Cedar Falls and Tim Wood of Arizona; two sisters, Janice Crain of Waterloo and Terri Nie of Jesup; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, aunts and uncles.

Preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Wanda and James Estel; her father and stepmother, Cecil and Bonnie Wood; a granddaughter, Kaliegh Goldsmith; and grandparents, Carl and Ruth Waddell.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Cheryl will be missed and loved by many. We want to give special thanks to Care Initiatives Hospice, CNAs, nurses and social workers at Ravenwood for their loving care for Cheryl.
