WATERLOO - James W. "Bud" Dankenbring, 91, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, Feb. 18, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 3, 1919, in Sweet Springs, Mo., son of Arthur and Wilhelmina Hinsberg Dankenbring. He married Mildred Meier Oct. 5, 1947, in Artesian.

Mr. Dankenbring farmed in Waterloo until 1980 and was a sales representative with Thor-O-Bred Seed from 1978-94, when he retired. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Sharon (Bill) Anstey of Chariton and Diane Rivers of Ankeny; a son, Dave (Colleen) of Olathe, Kan.; four grandchildren, Shelly (Steve) Hovick of Houston, Texas, Brian Anstey of Milan, Italy, and Holly and Curt Dankenbring, both of Olathe, Kan.; two brothers, Leonard of Waterloo and Ray (Lois) of St. Louis, Mo.; and a sister, Margaret Solon of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Preceded in death by a brother, Maurice.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden Of Memories Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Evansdale Amvets Post 31, Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and the Iowa Army National Honor Guard. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Main Street Building Project or Iowa Library For The Blind.
