WATERLOO - Nate "Dogg" Matlock, 48, of Waterloo, died Friday, Feb. 18, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born June 27, 1962, in Durant, Miss., son of Nathaniel Matlock Sr. and Maeida Burns. He married Maxine Turner June 6, 1998, in Waterloo.

He retired from Cedar Falls Construction Co. as a machine operator.

Survived by his wife, Maxine; a stepdaughter, Latiya (Ty) Sykes of Waterloo; a son, Nathaniel Taylon Matlock at home; five brothers, James, Roosevelt, L.C., and Lewis, all of Waterloo, and Terry of Marshalltown; and a stepgrandson.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Josephine Matlock.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Payne Memorial A.M.E. Church, with burial in Garden of Memories. Public visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church. Sanders Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 505 Keystone St., where they will be receiving friends.
