WATERLOO — Marjorie Marie Ford Hutchison Shadwick, 89, of Waterloo, formerly of Denver, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Friendship Village Nursing Home of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 23, 1921, in Wichita, Kan., daughter of Elmer Dewey Ford and Zola Elizabeth Curbow. She married Earl Charles Hutchison on Jan. 22, 1946, in Dumont. He died June 13, 1972. She married Lafayette "Lafe" George Shadwick on July 24, 1974. He died Jan. 13, 2004.

Mrs. Shadwick served as a cook in the U.S. Army during World War II. Throughout her adult life, she worked as a day care provider, Avon consultant, waitress, cook, housewife and mother.

Survived by two sons, Bill (Lorrie) Hutchison of McCloud, Okla., and Leon (Pat) Hutchison of Shell Rock; a daughter, Juanita (Kent) Ruby of Cedar Falls; two stepsons, Tom (Linda) and Steve Shadwick, both of Waverly; a stepdaughter, Janalee Berry of Waverly; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Juanita Geraldine "Jerre" Ford Dixon of Phoenix.

Preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Elizabeth Ford King; a half sister, Mary "Jimmi" Elizabeth Ford Martinez; two brothers, Leon Elmer and William "Bill" Otis Ford; a son, Everett Elmer Hutchison; and a great-grandson, Joshua David McCallum.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Orchard Hill Church, Cedar Falls, preceded by burial at 9:30 a.m. in Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to Friendship Village.

Marjorie loved children and for years served as a Sunday school teacher at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Mount Vernon, rural Waterloo.
