WATERLOO - Robert L. Loy, 76, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Lutheran Home, Cedar Falls, from Alzheimer's and lung cancer.

He was born Sept. 15, 1934, in La Porte City, son of Milfred and Blanche Brunk Loy. He married Betty Zwanziger on May 12, 1956, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mr. Loy farmed and also was employed with Rath Packing Co., retiring in 1984. He also was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Kevin (Linda) and Kirk (Mary), both of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Kim (Kent) Smock of Evansdale and Kori Loy of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Justin and Alex Smock, and Michelle, Nicole and Paige Loy; three sisters, Darlene Hospodarsky, Phyllis Bagby and Caroline (Mike) Mrzlak, all of Waterloo; two brothers, Paul (Fran) of Denver and David (Judy) of Waterloo; and a sister-in-law, Carol Loy of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, George.

Memorial Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Linden United Methodist Church, Waterloo, with inurnment in Hillside Cemetery, Cedar Falls, where full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Visitation an hour before services Friday at the church. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, Cedar Falls Lutheran Home or Newell Post, in lieu of flowers.
