WATERLOO — Martha Powell-Miller, 89, of Waterloo, died Friday, Feb. 11, at the Lutheran Home, Cedar Falls.

She was born Oct. 5, 1921, in rural Cedar Falls, daughter of Ernest and Minnie Musch Mundfrom. She married Ed Latwesen, and they later divorced. She married Jack Powell in 1957. He died in 1969. She married Martin Miller on Nov. 15, 1986. He died in 2002.

She graduated from Waverly High School in 1941. She and her husband Jack farmed in Shell Rock for many years. After moving to Waterloo in 1970, she graduated from Hawkeye Institute of Technology and worked at Allen Hospital as the housekeeping supervisor, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, was past president of the American Lutheran Association in Waterloo, was an active member of Omega Group at Heartland Vineyard Church and also helped with Meals on Wheels.

Survived by a son, Wayne (Barb) Latwesen of New Hartford; a daughter, Jan (Mark) Sawyer of Waterloo; an adopted daughter, LaVonne (Ted) Craighead of Idaho; five grandchildren, Connie (Brad) Feckers, Kim Colson, Steve (Marlas) Latwesen, Lincoln Brown and Daemond (Andrea) Turgeon; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Otto and Elmer Mundfrom; and a grandson, Eric.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Denver. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

Martha enjoyed being with her family, especially her great-grandkids.
