Dr. Eugene W. Sheldahl, 94, of Raymond, died on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. A memorial service is planned for 10:30 a.m. at the Raymond United Methodist Church on Monday, Feb. 14, with Pastor Marvin Cleair officiating. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.

Dr. Eugene Wesley Sheldahl was born on April 17, 1916, to Louie and Alvina Tjernagel Sheldahl in Huxley, Iowa. He received his osteopathic medical degree from Des Moines University. He practiced in the Clemons area for many years. He was united in marriage to Edna Slaughter on Nov. 20, 1942, in Minburn.

He is survived by his loving wife, Edna; two daughters, Pam (Mike) Flanders of Raymond; Paula (Don) Riley of Summerfield, Fla.; four grandchildren, Dustin Hubbard of Littleton, Colo.; Sean (Jen) Hubbard of Wakefield, Mass.; Erica (Michael) Brown of Cedar Rapids; and Trent Flanders of Waterloo; and a great-grandson, Ethan Hubbard.

Dr. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Duane Sheldahl.

Memorial donations may be directed to Raymond Methodist Church in Raymond or the Salvation Army.
