WATERLOO — Donna Kay Holien, 64, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Grundy Care Center, Grundy Center, after a lengthy illness.

She was born Sept. 9, 1946, in Waterloo, daughter of Donald and Opal Irene Parker Francis. She married Dale Lee Holien on Dec. 14, 1972, in Galena, Ill. He died Dec. 17, 1998.

Mrs. Holien was employed as a nurse at St. Francis Hospital for five years, then was a bookkeeper at the family business, Waterloo Pool & Spa, for 13 years, retiring in 1989. She was the second vice president of Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 Women's Auxiliary.

Survived by four sons, Michael and Donald "Donnie" Hoeppner, and David (Renee) Holien, all of Waterloo, and Daniel (Jannelle) Holien of Tripoli; and six grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Donald Francis Jr.

Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with inurnment in the mausoleum at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation an hour before services Friday at the funeral home. Her body will not be present.
