CEDAR FALLS - Melvin C. Frost, 84, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Allen Hospital.

He was born July 21, 1926, in Jesup, son of Joseph and Sophia Caseldine Frost. He married Maxine M. Clemens Oct. 2, 1948, in Oelwein.

Mr. Frost served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a supervisor with John Deere Engine Works in 1946, retiring in 1982.

Survived by his wife; a son, David (Laura) of Lakeside, Calif.; five daughters, Susan (Barry) Whitlatch of Cedar Falls, Mary (Richard) Williams of Mason City, Maureen (David) Timm of Indianapolis, Ind., Colleen (Chris) Fullenkamp of Westpoint and Kathleen (John From) Frost of Largo, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard (Gloria) Frost of New Hartford.

Preceded in death by three sisters, Rita Dixon, Edna Murty and Norma Jean Hernandez; and a brother, Robert.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at Richardson Funeral Home, with a 4:30 p.m. rosary. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 Honor Guard.
