WATERLOO - Eugene Smith, 56, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born March 15, 1954, in Lexington, Miss., son of Lanier and Annie Ellis Smith. He married Fran Wyatt. They later divorced.

Mr. Smith was a self-employed handyman and served in the U.S. Army.

Survived by: three daughters, Terreca Quinn (Desmond) of Tampa, Fla., LaTina Smith of Memphis, Tenn., and LaQuandra Anderson of Waterloo; two sons, Terrance (Kici) Campbell of Lansing, Mich., and Eugene Jr. of Panama City, Fla.; five sisters, Eula Hicks and Connie Anderson, both of Memphis, and Callie (S.C.) Williams, Bobbye Wright and Christine Allen, all of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren; seven brothers, Albert of Memphis, Henry (Annie), Willie, and Samuel (Adrienne), all of Waterloo, Thomas of Houston, Isadore of Waterloo, and Curtis (Crystal) of Columbia, S.C.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Booker T.; and a sister in infancy.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Payne A.M.E. Church, with private burial at a later date. Public visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Sanders Funeral Service, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 116 Dawson St., Waterloo, where they will be receiving friends.
