Clifford John Zubrod, 80 of Barron, Wisconsin, and formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Rice Lake Convalescent Center in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

He was born February 12, 1928 in Oelwein, Iowa the son of Clyde and Sylvia (Kunkle) Zubrod. As a small child he moved to Waterloo, Iowa and graduated from East High School.

On June 26, 1949 he married Clara Zecoff at Waterloo. She preceded him in death on March 29, 1988. The family made their home in Horton, Iowa for 30 years and Clifford worked on the loading dock at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo for 33 years retiring in 1983. In 1996, Clifford moved to the Barron and Rice Lake Wisconsin area. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed fishing and also socializing with all of his friends.

He is survived by a daughter, Deb Picknell of Barron, WI; three sons, Larry (Denise) Zubrod of Texas, David (Joanie) Zubrod of New Mexico, and Mike (Sharon) Zubrod of Waterloo, IA; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Clara and a son-in-law, LeRoy Picknell.

Memorial Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Garden View Chapel in Waterloo with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the chapel.
