REEVES, LANE, TURPEN, MICKELSON

CEDAR FALLS - Franklin A. Reeves, 96, of Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, died there Sunday, Jan. 23.

He was born July 30, 1914, in Pisgah, son of Frank Martin and Clara Matilda Lane Reeves. He married Mildred Turpen on Dec. 25, 1934, in Pleasanton. She died Dec. 5, 1998.

Mr. Reeves and his wife owned and operated the Pleasanton General Store until 1952, and later he was employed by the U.S. Department of Defense.

Survived by: a son, Dr. Lane (Joanne) Reeves of Cedar Falls; four grandsons, Gregory (Stephanie) Reeves of Madison Lake, Minn., Dr. Andrew (Jennifer) Reeves of Mankato, Minn., Douglas (Brenda) Reeves of Estherville and Rodney (Christine) Mickelson of Cedar Rapids; and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Carol (Roger) Reeves Mickelson.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Community of Christ Church, Cedar Falls, with burial Wednesday in Rose Hill Cemetery, Lamoni. Public visitations from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.

Franklin always remained proud of his service in the Civil Air Patrol during World War II.
