WATERLOO - Alonzo Jordan, 65, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Jan. 16, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born May 11, 1945, in Waterloo, son of Sam and Sarah Gilmore Jordan. He married Ollie Gaines on March 30, 1963, in Preston, Minn.

Mr. Jordan worked for Waterloo schools as a bus driver, and also had worked at Bartine Motors and Holdiman Motors.

Survived by: his wife; three daughters, Rogena Jones and Maureen (Lonzo Coleman) Jordan, both of Waterloo, and Roshelle (Steve) Sterling of Davenport; three sons, Jay (Pam) of Waterloo, Neal of Kansas City, Mo., and James of St. Paul, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Sam (Diane) Phoenix and Johnny of Ashland, Colo.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Willie; two sisters, Evelyn Smith and Irene McGary; and a stepson, Alvin Gaines.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Union Missionary Baptist Church, followed by cremation. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and for an hour before services Friday, all at the church. Sanders Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to the family at 300 Lester St., where they will receive friends.
