WATERLOO — Margarie R. "Marge" Salo, 74, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Jan. 16, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 9, 1936, in Waterloo, daughter of Marvin and Evelyn Reeves Riggs. She married Dean E. Salo more than 40 years ago in Waterloo.

Mrs. Salo was self-employed as an artist.

Survived by: her husband; a son, Jerry (Shannon) Rutter of Lakeville, Minn.; six daughters, Teresa (Kevin) Olson of Evansdale, Deanne Parker of Colorado Springs, Colo., Linda (Todd) Ambrose of Elk Run Heights, Sue Salo of North Carolina, Pamela (Rick) Pohlman of Louisville, Ky., and Julie Eagle of Michigan; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Marvin (Jan) Riggs of Odenton, Md., David (Mary) Riggs of Milton, Fla., and Michael (Margo) Riggs of Austin, Texas; and two sisters, Mary Lou (Larry) Strohm of Quinlan, Texas, and Shirley Andrews of Luray, Va.

Preceded in death by: her parents; two sons, Randolph and Rudolph; a daughter, Karla Rutter; and three grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 9 a.m. until services Wednesday at the funeral home.
