David L. Van Horn, 50, of West Monroe, La., formerly of Waterloo, died Dec. 29, 2010, of a heart attack after a heroic battle of illnesses/infections due to pneumonia.

Survived by his wife, Theresa; children, Amy, David Jr., and Jeremy of Louisiana; his mother, Kay of West Union; sister Pam of West Union; and brothers Marty of Waterloo and Mike of Dubuque.

David is predeceased by his father, Richard in 2005. Services and burial are in West Monroe.

David Lynn Van Horn 7/14/1960 - 12/29/2010

Funeral services for Mr. David L. Van Horn, Sr., 50, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday December 31, 2010 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Art Beebe officiating. Interment will be at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens in West Monroe.

Mr. Van Horn died suddenly December 29, 2010 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Van Horn was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, receiving numerous chips for his 4 years of sobriety. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Van Horn.

Survivors: his wife, Theresa Van Horn; mother, Kay Van Horn; Children, Jeremy Van Horn, Amy Van Horn, David Van Horn, Jr., Shane Glazner and Dakota Van Horn; 7 Grandchildren, Bailey Whitaker, Ancle Whitaker, Rylan Glazner, Jaxson Glazner, Ava Grace Van Horn, and Ethan Hollis Brothers, Michael Van Horn and wife, Zonna and Martin Van Horn and wife, Lori; Sister, Pam Van Horn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Van Horn, Jr., Jeremy Van Horn, Ancle Whitaker, Rodney Cook, Chris Sturdivant and Shane Burge.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday and from 11:00 A.M. until service time Friday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
