WASHBURN - Gary Lee Harmon, 58, of Fort Collins, Colo., formerly of Washburn, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, at VA Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyo. of natural causes.

He was born Nov. 9, 1952 in Burlington, son of Kenneth and Martha Henderson Harmon. He married Jane Hein Aug. 11, 1973 in Waterloo. They later divorced.

He attended Orange Schools near Waterloo and served in the U.S. Navy from 1970-72. He worked at Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Boone, a lumber company in Burlington and Burlington Northern Railroad in Denver, Colo.

Survived by: a daughter, Melissa (Conrad) Weiss of Fort Collins, Colo.; two sons, Chris (Donna) Hein of Loveland, Colo., and Matt (Rhonda) Hein of Springfield, Mo.; his mother; three brothers, Kirk Henderson of California, and Randy Harmon and Tracy Harmon, both of Waterloo; three sisters, Joyce Gladson of Waterloo, Christine Henderson of Mediapolis and Sandy Hohmbraker of Burlington; and 11 grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: his father; two sisters, Joanne Brumback and Marie Jane Harmon; and a brother, Danny Henderson.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Special services by Becker-Chapman Post 138 American Legion and Waterloo Post 1623 Veterans of Foreign Wars. There will be no visitation.
