WATERLOO, IOWA - Elaine M. Tuchel, 55, formerly of Mason City, Iowa, died Friday (March 29, 2002) at her home in Waterloo.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Waukon.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service in Waterloo, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue two hours before the service at the church.

ITEM 2:

Elaine M. Tuchel, 55, of Waterloo, formerly of Waukon, died Friday, March 29, 2002, at her home in Waterloo, following a sudden illness. Funeral services were held Tues., April 2, at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon, with the Reverend Lynn Groe officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Martin Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.

Elaine Mavis Kiesau Tuchel was born June 17, 1946, in Waukon, the daughter of Edgar and Carrol (Pladsen) Kiesau. She attended elementary school in Waukon and Clear Lake before graduating from Waukon High School.

She married Ronald Meinert. They were later divorced. She married Shirley Pardon. They were later divorced. On Oct. 3, 1980, Elaine married Harold Tuchel in Waterloo.

Elaine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She did volunteer work for the Women's Crisis Center and also worked at the YWCA, both in Waterloo. Elaine enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards and board games. She also enjoyed traveling. One trip that she really enjoyed was on the Via Rail across Canada.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Harold of Waterloo; two daughters, Jennifer Elaine (Cory) Clark of Evansdale and Rhonda McLeland of Des Moines; a son, Steven (Kelli) Meinert of Clear Lake; six grandchildren; a sister, Christine (Gerald) Murphy of Janesville, WI; three brothers, Eugene Kiesau of Los Angeles, CA, Robert (Carol) Kiesau of Biloxi, MS, and Steven (Cheryl) of Janesville, WI.

Honorary Casketbearers were her grandchildren, Ben Dalgliesh, Nick McLeland, Guy Minert, Lauren Minert, Allianna Clark, and Tyler Clark.
