WATERLOO - Betty Acker Sauer, 74, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

She was born Oct. 20, 1936, in Waterloo, daughter of Dr. Wesley and Gertrude McFarland Acker. She married Dr. Robert L. Sauer on Sept. 10, 1960, in Waterloo, and they later divorced.

Mrs. Sauer graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1955 and took her nurse's training in Iowa. She was a stay-at-home mom and after moving to Preston, Minn., worked as a school nurse for the Spring Valley School District. She moved to Rochester in 1985 and worked at Bachman's Flowers, Wallin's West, Super America and Hallmark, retiring in 2003.

Survived by a daughter, Linda (Doug Banks) Sauer of Plymouth, Minn.; two sons, Steven (Jo) of Rochester and Robert Paul (Leanne) of Preston; and three grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Dr. Richard "Dick" Acker and Robert "Bob" Acker.

Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Sunday at Mahn Family Funeral Home – Rochester Chapel, preceded by an hour of visitation.
