CEDAR FALLS — Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Broell, 80, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Jesup, died Monday, Dec. 27, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, from complications of heart surgery.

She was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Dyersville, daughter of Albert and Marie Luken Digmann. She married Roland Dean "Rollie" Broell on July 17, 1952, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Mrs. Broell worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing as an inspector, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Waterloo, and was a former member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup.

Survived by: her husband; three daughters, Angela Broell of Waterloo, Nancy Myers of Cedar Falls and Lisa Myers of Winthrop; two sons, Thomas (Joyce) Broell of Cedar Falls and Nathan Myers of Anamosa; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Albert (Karen) Digmann of Branson, Mo., Don (Helen) Digmann of Waterloo, Roger (Nancy) Digmann of Monticello and Ron (Joyce) Digmann of Dyersville; and five sisters, Shirley Weber of Delhi, Mary Lou Wink of Kahoka, Mo., Bonnie (Jerry) Pearson of Martelle, Linda Mason of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Carolyn "Cookie" (Gib) Fangman of Earlville.

Preceded in death by: three brothers, Lloyd, Alvin and Jerry Digmann; and a sister, Donna Pottebaum.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, with burial in the church cemetery. Public visitation from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Friday at the church.
