WATERLOO - Lon Wesley Robinson, 73, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Dec. 23, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born Oct. 22, 1937, in Choctaw County, Miss., son of Raymond and Vera Gladney Robinson. He married Nina Pearl Culpepper on Dec. 24, 1964, in Preston, Minn., and they later divorced. He married Rebecca Eileen Hawkins on Jan. 1, 1981, in Waterloo.

Mr. Robinson worked as a leadman for John Deere Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1990.

Survived by: his wife; three sons, Micheal Lon (Youlanda) Robinson of Evansdale, Bernard Moore Jr. of Waterloo and Andre DuShaun Newell of DesMoines; three daughters, Angela Fay Robinson, Sandra Kay Robinson and Beverly Pearl Robinson, all of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; three brothers, LeVorn (Purline) of Waterloo, Laymond of Atlanta, Ga., and Lenwood (Rosanna) Robinson of Denver, Colo.; and five sisters, Lavada Clark and Lavoia Bradford, both of St. Louis, Lover Mae Robinson of Broken Arrow, Okla., Cornelia Vena (Alonzo) Gipson of Spring Hill, Tenn., and Zula Rodgers of Akron, Ohio.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Larry and Lewis; and two sisters, Leatrice Robinson and Louvenue Coney.

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour before the services Thursday, all at the church. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel is in charge of arrangements .
