VANCOUVER, Wash. — Alice T. Rogers, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 4, in Vancouver, Wash.

She was born Nov. 5, 1918, daughter of Dr. E.J. and Sara Thierman. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Iowa State Teachers College (now the University of Northern Iowa) in 1940, and an Master of Arts degree from Northwestern University in 1942. For several years, she worked at the Northwestern University Library and the Detroit Public Library. She became a homemaker after the birth of her first child.

She married Franklin M. Rogers on March 29, 1944. She is survived by her husband; and her two sons, James F. Rogers of Laguna Beach, Calif., and John D. Rogers of Belmont, Mass. She is also survived by five grandchildren.

Over the course of her life she lived in France, Australia, the United Kingdom, Spain and Switzerland. She was a resident of Vancouver since 1986.

The funeral will be Dec. 13 at the Evergreen Staples Funeral Home, Vancouver.
