Stephen G. "Steve" Henwood, 62, of Massey Station, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 18 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque, with a memorial service at 6 p.m.

He was born April 17, 1948, in Waterloo, the son of George and Alma (Burget) Henwood. He married Janice Katherine Lynch on June 25, 1976, in Dubuque. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1969-1973.

He graduated from Waterloo West High School and attended Iowa State University and Hawkeye Tech. He worked for Dubuque John Deere Tractor Works as a industrial photographer until his retirement on Dec. 31, 2001.

He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping and was an avid NASCAR Fan.

He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, the Tri-State Bass Club and the Key City Bass Club and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife, Janice, and a brother, David of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, a Stephen G. Henwood memorial fund has been established.
