WATERLOO — Ron A. Kacher, 63, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Dec. 4, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born Feb. 25, 1947, in Perry, son of Stanley J. and Eleanor Clink Kacher. He married Annie Kirsch on May 23, 1970, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Mr. Kacher served during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army Reserves from 1966 to 1972. He was employed with John Deere Engine Works as a supplier development technician for 34 years, retiring in 2001. He also was involved with Ducks Unlimited, Waterloo AMVETS Post 19, Eagle Scouts, the United Way board and Waterloo Elks.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Kelsey Kacher of Waterloo; two sons, Chad Kacher of Waterloo and Blaine (Molly) Cormaney of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren, Russell Kacher, Jeremy Kacher, Payton Kacher, Jordan Burens and Alexis Stamatiades; his mother of Cedar Falls; and three brothers, Sterling (Jan) Clink of Story City, Stanley (Kathy) Kacher of Anchor Point, Alaska, and Rick (Marilyn) Kacher of Ada, Mich.

Preceded in death by: his father.

Celebration of Life: 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Red Carpet Golf Club, 1409 Newell St. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway.

Memorials: may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
