WATERLOO - Kenneth Richard Jensen, 85, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born March 18, 1925, in Oelwein, son of Alexander and Elizabeth Helm Jensen. He married Beverly Young Sept. 23, 1949, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Waterloo. She died Aug. 21, 1992.

He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1942. Mr. Jensen was a diesel mechanic in the South Pacific Fiji Islands with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Jensen worked for Great Northwestern Railroad in Oelwein and John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo, where he retired as general supervisor in May 1982. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and served on many committees. He was a 40-year member of Board of Trustees and was a member of the American Legion.

Survived by: two sons, Steven (Cathy) Jensen of Pleasant Hill and Lloyd "Sam" (Pam) Jensen of Ridgefield, Conn.; a daughter, Jacquelyn (John) VanKamen of Denver; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Floyd and Dale Jensen.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories. Military Honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and Becker-Chapman Post 138 American Legion

Memorials: may be directed to St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Waterloo.

Family was Kenneth's life. He enjoyed cars, camping and fishing in Wisconsin, mechanics and woodworking. Kenneth loved singing, making people laugh, and taught guitar. He enjoyed having breakfast and lunch at Jeorgi's in Waterloo.
