WATERLOO - Donald L. "Griff" Griffin, 82, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Dec. 2, at his home.

He was born May 21, 1928, in Des Moines, son of Thomas and Helen Hylton Griffin. He married Donna Summerhays Nov. 19, 1960, at St. Edward Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Mr. Griffin was president of Fuller Roofs in Waterloo, retiring in 1994. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict.

Survived by: his wife; three daughters, Elizabeth (Marty) Freshwater of Waterloo, Susan (Scott) Griffin-Lang of Johnston and Sandra (Kevin) Fulcher of Hudson; and seven grandchildren, Allie and Elliot Lamb, Cameron and Ethan Fulcher, Dylan and Noah Lang and Faith Freshwater.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Dorothy Schmidt; and two infant daughters, Mary Francis and Ann Mary Griffin.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the Catholic Worker House.
