WATERLOO - LeRoy V. Ward, 68, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center, Marshalltown, following a lengthy illness.

He was born July 19, 1942, in Mason City, son of Roy and Geraldine Emerald Tantow Ward. On Nov. 19, 1972, he married Debra Kay Jacobsen in Waterloo.

Mr. Ward graduated from high school in Rock Falls in 1960 and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and Disabled American Veterans.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Juliet Emerald (Randy) Brinkman of Greene; two grandchildren, Andrew and Ayla Emerald Brinkman; a sister, Delores (Allen) Lathrop of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Dale Ward; and a sister, Evelyn Holmes.

Services: 2:30 p.m. Friday at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 930 W. Fourth St., with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites. Public visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church. White Funeral Home, Jesup, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to the church.

LeRoy enjoyed camping, traveling, listening to music, watching Western movies and especially his grandchildren.
