CEDAR FALLS — Carol Charles-Rohlf, 51, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Nov. 14, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

She was born April 17, 1959, in Waterloo, daughter of Robert and Mary Pitzenberger Charles.

She graduated from Waterloo Columbus High School and received her associate degree in fashion merchandising from the Chicago International Academy of Design. She received both her bachelor’s degree in social work (LMSW) and her master’s degree in mental health counseling (LMHC) from the University of Northern Iowa and was a registered play therapist. She was in private practice at The People Place in Cedar Falls and served four years as president of the Iowa Mental Health Counselors Association.

Survived by: two daughters, Madeline and Chloe Rohlf, and their father, John Rohlf, all of Cedar Falls; her mother of Waterloo; three sisters, Julie Charles of Aurora, Colo., Sue Koontz of Waterloo and Terri (Greg) Churchill of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Steve (Deb) Charles of Fairfield, Conn., Frank Charles of Golden, Colo., and Fred (Holly) Charles of Springville; and nine nieces and nephews, Court, Tyler and Connor Charles, Graham and Alexandra Churchill, Nick and Jessica Charles and Nathan and Caryn Charles.

Preceded in death by: her father.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with inurnment at a later date. Public visitation for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial fund: will be established.

The family requests that those attending the service wear bright, uplifting clothes.
