WATERLOO - Verle C. Leehey, 96, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Oct. 21, at her home.

She was born June 7, 1914, in Fairbank, daughter of Francis and Winifred McCunniff Duffy. She married Hugh Robert Leehey in 1942 in Chicago. He preceded her in death.

She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Fairbank and attended business college. She was an executive secretary for Quail and Co., Altstadt and Langlas Baking Co., and Covenant Memorial Hospital, until retirement.

Survived by: a son, Jim of Waterloo; and a sister, Genevieve M. Everett of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Clifton Duffy.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edward's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 4 p.m. rosary. Visitation also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
