Carl F. Hansen, 88, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Covenant Medical Center of lung cancer.

He was born April 5, 1923 in Cedar Falls, son of Carl G. F. and Matilda Nelson Hansen. He married Mildred L. Kuriger September 19, 1947 in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Hansen was employed at Viking Pump in Cedar Falls for forty-four years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Becker-Chapman American Legion Post #138 in Waterloo, and AMVET Post 82 in Hudson.

He is survived by three sons, Steven (Chantall) Hansen of Evansdale, Richard (Karen) Hansen of Cedar Falls, and Kevin Hansen of Waterloo; two daughters, Connie (Michael) Hites of Evansdale, and Carol (Stevan) Deahl of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, two in infancy, Paul, Dennis, and Sven Hansen; three sisters, Mary Ellen in infancy, Julia Walterman, and Mildred Johnston; and a great granddaughter, Heather Fishler.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls. Public visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.

Graveside military rites will be conducted by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post #138, VFW Post 1623, and the Army National Guard Honor Detail.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
