WATERLOO - William R. Quibell, 73, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, Oct. 11, in Tulsa from complications of heart disease and Alzheimer's.

He was born May 7, 1937, in Waterloo, son of William Harold and Marie Sarah Schumacher Quibell. He married Patricia Ann Remetch on July 20, 1958, in Waterloo.

He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1955. Mr. Quibell was employed at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, retiring Nov. 1, 1988.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Bill (Nita) of Waterloo; three daughters, Christine (Duane) Gengler of Elk Run Heights, and Charlotte and Cheryl Quibell, both of Tulsa; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two special friends, Donna Lovins and Renee Pry, both of Tulsa.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Sally Quibell; and a stepgrandson, Devin Boos.

Graveside memorial services: 1 p.m. Monday in the Last Supper Section of Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at Garden View Chapel. The body will not be present, as he was cremated.
