TRIPOLI - Shirley Geraldine Brown, 91, of Tripoli, formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Tripoli Nursing Home.

She was born May 2, 1919, in Postville, daughter of Walter and Tilda Olson Huffey. She married LuVerne Brown Aug. 12, 1940, in Burr Oak.

She graduated from Decorah High School. She worked at Sears and Roebuck in Waterloo, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Waterloo.

Survived by: her husband; three daughters, Jacquelyn (Herb) Clemen of Readlyn, Janet Hagen of Anderson, S.C., and Jeanne Downer of Gladstone, Mo.; a son, Lyndon of Kansas City, Mo.; 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, George (Jean) Huffey of Waterville; and four sisters, Greta Lockhart of Brownsville, Minn., Leatrice McEvilly of Caledonia, Minn., Esther Enyart of Texas and Lotus (Barton) of Caledonia.

Preceded in death by: three brothers, Lloyd Huffey, Vinton Huffey and Vernon Huffey; a sister, Merle Schultz; three children, Ronald, Sharon Paulsen and Richard; a son-in-law, Bob Hagen; and four grandsons, Brian Brown, Derek Clemen, Eric Rule and Andrew Harris.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Readlyn, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Readlyn, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Shirley enjoyed fishing, traveling, painting with oils, restoring furniture, bowling, crocheting, cooking, playing Scrabble, and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed all types of music, especially Bluegrass, but mostly Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family.

Memorials: may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, Waverly or to the Tripoli Nursing Home.
