Funeral services were held Monday, January 23 for Luverne J. Loeb, age 66, of rural Jesup, Iowa. He died Friday, January 20, 1989 at the Americana Health Care Center in Waterloo, Iowa. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. at Zion United Church of Jubilee. Burial was in the Jubilee Cemetery with Huisman Funeral Home of LaPorte City, Iowa in charge of arrangements.

Luverne was born April 13, 1922 in Spring Creek Township in Black Hawk County to George and Minnie (Weltzin) Loeb. On February 6, 1945 he married Beverly K. Dungan at Zion United Church of Jubilee.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Wilbert Loeb.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly; 2 sons, Dennis C. Loeb of Jesup, Iowa and Randy J. Loeb of Waukon, Iowa; his mother Minnie Loeb of LaPorte City, Iowa; 3 grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Elmer Loeb and Gerald Loeb, both of LaPorte City, Iowa.
